Regarding Penn's open letter to Michael Bay

Nelson here.
Penn students on Facebook have set up an open letter to Michael Bay… [ Read more ]. According to the post they seem to think that although Michael has shot at Penn the movie will take place at Princeton. It reads:
Princeton? Really? You HAD to shoot at the University of Pennsylvania and choose to have us ‘play’ Princeton? Shia couldn’t have gone to UPENN? Join this group and ask Michael Bay to CGI the University of Pennsylvania (not Princeton) back into Transformers 2.

BY ROBERT STERN
PRINCETON BOROUGH — Imagine staging a car crash amid the Gothic-style stone edifices of Princeton University.
That prospect made Hollywood director Michael Bay a tad uneasy as he planned filming part of the sequel to last year’s blockbuster “Transformers” movie.
He didn’t know if the university, where scenes for his next “Transformers” movie have been shot for the last two days, would go along with the bent metal of an action flick.

Keep an eye out for Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel, Megan Fox and John Turturro over the next two weeks as Michael Bay puts Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen before the cameras in Philly, starting tomorrow. Among locations: Peco plants along the Delaware, the University of Pennsylvania (because LaBeouf plays a college student), and Eastern State Penitentiary. Last week’s shooting in Bethlehem, Pa., was a blast, as the old U.S. Steel plant hosted explosions and whirring Black Hawk helicopters.

The National Air and Space Museum went Hollywood when it became the first Smithsonian-affiliated spot to be featured in a movie title (“Night at the Museum 2: Escape From the Smithsonian,” filmed last month). Now its Chantilly outpost is getting some time in the limelight.
Director Michael Bay was at the museum’s Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center yesterday, filming scenes for his upcoming “Transformers” sequel with stars Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox. We hear that a “super-friendly” LaBeouf signed autographs while Bay took visiting school groups on behind-the-scenes tours of the film set.

"Not a lame sequel"

From MTV.com… [ Read more ]:
First there was “Back to the Future,” and then “The Matrix,” and then, more recently, “Pirates of the Caribbean,” where literally the last thing said on screen during the second film was a cliffhanging new plot point. If you’ve got a successful franchise, why not link the second and third movies, forcing audiences to wait upwards of a year for resolution?
Because it’s friggin “lame,” “Transformers” director Michael Bay insisted to us at the MTV Movie Awards, telling MTV News that the second go-round with Optimus Prime would be entirely self-contained.
